About David

David Wells is a singer-songwriter rooted in the landscapes and stories of Northern New York, whose voice and pen have been part of the regional music scene since the early 1990s. David has spent decades performing across the Northeast, and continues to do so to this day.

Over the course of his career, David has released three solo studio projects, each a testament to his growth as both a writer and performer. His latest offering, When I Was Young, is a six-song acoustic EP that captures a rare and intimate studio performance recorded in 2004 at Phatboy Studios in Madison, NY, alongside producer Jeffery Moyer. The EP stands as a timeless snapshot of David at his most unguarded — raw, reflective, and deeply personal. In addition to his solo catalog, his recording credits span a range of collaborative group projects, where he has contributed as both a drummer and vocalist, demonstrating a musicianship that extends well beyond the spotlight.

David draws from the well of lived experience — tales of coming of age in St. Lawrence County sit comfortably alongside songs about love, family, heartbreak, and loss. His writing finds poetry in the everyday, turning the quiet corners of everyday life into music that resonates far beyond the region.

You can find David Wells performing throughout the North Country and surrounding areas, both as a solo act and alongside his band, The Whiskey Room — bringing his songs to life, one honest note at a time.
